A Confession I had to make.....

Misunderstanding can be an issue sometimes... saw chang's blog abt not having enuff frens to play MJ, I admit I am one of them... cos I had work to do on a sat night ...yes...sat night... coupled with lotsa adapting to new work environment and people... I m tired... very tired...

But rather than the usual "it's not my fault"... I tot abt it for awhile... it really seemed like I have been spending less time with the gang since I started working... so I kinda feel bad... cos although they r somewhere on my mind, that somewhere has since been clouded with things like work and halahing with ppl...

So to the gang, pardon me for not being able to join some of the outings. I really do appreciate our frenship... just tt I m not really an emo person to show my appreciations for you guys sometimes.

I will try my best to join you guys whenever I can.

Realised why some pple dun have many frens. The one major thing in chasing away frens is refusal to heed their advices. I am not saying to follow every damn thing they say, I am saying like listen to what they have to say and see if it makes sense. I can bet with ya, 70 to 80% of the time they r right...

"旁观者清，当局者迷" ("The pple around see things clearer than the one involved")

Never heeding advice is one thing, "keeping ur ears shut" is another thing... and then trying to force things in a random and own way(s), and later complain abt it... well it's the ultimate deterent of good frens...

So, peeps, if you ever really tink you lack frens, perhaps it's a good time to ask urself have you been listening to ur frens lately....

Convocation - 24072008

It's convocation ... well it doesnt really excite me leh... for some reason I dunno y ...

Seemed like a draggy time waiting for events to start and then listen to boring stuff... anyhow... taking photos was a busy event man... I couldnt even get to kelson cos of photo taking... but it was fun ... meeting all the frens who used to study together... who used to hang out together... who used to lup sup together too... hiak hiak hiak... and of course taking it with my beloved family... a wonderful evening ah...

So here goes:







End of NTU days = a start for my working life... wahahaha

Summary of the 1st week of work in NOV

First week of work...


to summarise...

IT WAS SUPER SHAGGED !!

Reason being:

1) I have like jetlag from mon till wed which made my eyes so tired and dry everytime in office while trying to learn the trades in my department...

2) My department has no peak period(s)... so everydae we have tonnes of quotations, purchase orders and even liaising with clients to do sales... its not like I minded serious...

3) I need to really start to get familiarise with all the products so that I could reinforce the technical side of the jobscope to do sales...

4) There is so many stuff to learn and so little time at hand...


But, this is all worthwhile yeah... constantly learning something beats having to slack around one corner and learning to be ABC (Act Busy Champion)... wahahaha


Oh well, I will try to blog as often as I can but I envisage work to be pounding up pretty soon... so I will try... hee~

Back from Texas, Houston to start my Career....

Hello pple !! Me is back !!

As you all know, I was in Houston last week for a week of orientation in Texas with National Oilwell Varco (NOV). I have officially started working as a trainee for their Next Gen Program... so I will strive to survive in this harsh but properous Oil n Gas Industry.

Texas is hot, blazing hot. 35 degrees man... its like SG minus the humidity. In fact, one of our fellow trainees from china couldnt take the heat n fainted when we went for an excursion in the oil fields... so its tough man... out there

Ok enuff of the wrapup, here are some of the pics taken:











We met Scottish, British, Americans, Mexicans, Lebanese, Egyptians, PRCs, Canadians and even some Singaporeans who were recruited under the USA group. So it was a fabulous trip - the pple, the courses and the shopping.

Oh and I have gotten my rotation for the whole year. I will be flying to Edmonton, Canada for 3 months in Sept and I will also go to Texas, Houston for 3 months in Jan. So yeah, gonna miss CNY in SG ... but Xmas should be a wonderful experience in Canada man... I will see snow !!!

3rd day of working is starting in 3 hours and I still have lotsa stuff to understand and learn. Seriously, I just feel very fortunate to be able to work for an MNC in this industry as the oil n gas industry does not really look for fresh grads hires often. So, I hoped to be able to crave a succesful and long career for NOV and hopefully be able to do well for my rotations before I get drafted !

Wish me luck eh !!
