Yum Cha 25022008
Went to Yum Cha at Chinatown for high tea... actually lunch and dinner... lunner ?? wahahaha
Anyway Weijian was late... so we decided to help ourselves to the food first. There were Yi Fei (aka the dog lover), Songlin, Weishun and me.

Anyway after Weijian came, it was the usual "Mocking Hoo Yi Fei" sessions, as shown here:
To recall a little, Mr Hoo Yi Fei is the clown aka dog lover of the gang. Wanna know y gotta ask him personally... kekeke But somehow these gang of peeps just like to disturb him... hahaha (I good person... I never disturb him wor.... hahaha)
A devils' accomplice is still better than the devils themselves man.... hee

After Dim Sum, we continued our journey to chinatown area to look for air tix to frankfurt. Yes, we are gonna compare prices with the NATAS fair this week so that we could get the best bargain man... hahaha
On a side note, chanced upon this stall at Pearl's Center. Notice the title of the goods they are selling doesnt really match the pieces on the stores. Winter wear and gowns ?? I rest my case... hahaha

Wine Appreciation Course
Just went for a "Wine Appreciation course" on Saturaday in NTU.Haha... seems and turned out quite well the course... seldom do one get "high" or tipsy while taking a course or something... hahaha
The course primarily focus on how to appreciate wine and finding the tyep of flavours that one would prefer. Of course, it adds an additional "class" to know how to drink and appraise wine lah... heh
Got to try a few of the Reds and Whites:
1)Sauvignon Blanc (White)
2)Chardonnay (White)
3)Shiraz (Red)
4)Merlot (Red)
5)Cabernot Sauvignon (Red)
If you ask me, I personally prefer Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon for white and red wines respectively.
On a lighter note, I got to know new frens there too !!
So peeps, one of the days, come over my house and we drink wine yeah !!! Or we could go wine cellars for some chilling out man...

I really think I should stop drinking in Boat Quay man... although I went only like 2 times with some frens.First, I tink that I am just not really comfortable in the environment. It seems like the whole place is for lao beng lidat... with all the xiao mei mei bartenders and waitresses. Granted, some of these gals are quite pretty and sweet, but watching them get rubbed by men just doesnt turn me on leh...
Second, I seem to have a different taste in terms of appreciating the female species. And one fren kept pushing waitresses to me which I feel not really comfortable.
Third, I think my faces give pple the wrong impression that I am naive and gullible. Simpley becos I have a boy boy face, doesnt necessary mean I dunno wats going on and how to assess pple... 8) Perhaps such a face do keep me at a distance from many "unwanted" distractions (Finally found something good abt my boyish looks).
Oh and finally, drinking beer gives me a belly and I am already having a real hard time trying to smoothen my tummy... hahaha and beer makes me nauseous when I drink too much... |||
So in conclusion, this kinda lifestyle gotta change arh...
So less beer and more wine... less play and more studies !!

Gambling and lending money....
Talk about money... I still remember someone owing me some money for like 3 yrs already. Well, it's not really the amount of money that is important. And it's the act of borrowing and not returning that is most uncalled for.
First of all, I decided to write this blog after these past few weeks of anti-gambling addiction thingy going on the TVs. Then it came to me that this person hasnt changed a bit since he borrowed money from. He is still gambling heavily and it seems like a neverending snowball...
Oh well... it's easy for us pple to say "No money then dun gamble lah"... but when one is on an addiction... one is no longer sensible...
Perhaps I shouldnt have lent him the money in the first place... I shouldnt be a devil's advocate in stimulating his addiction...
Oh well... I can only pray that he is not as addicted as I think he is...

Reflections on being "EMO"
Was reflecting to keet yesterday when staying at his home after mahjong, that dunno y I was a little "emo" these past few days...
Dunno issit becos of the hype over Valentine's day or just me having an unusual round of PMS...
Perhaps it's a combi of both... seems like Valentine's Day I am the only "loser" who had to stay in school diligently for lectures just becos I dun have a proper date. And it seems like everyone is very busy on tt day... whether izzit with their lovers... "budding" loves... or "targets"... hahaha
Guess wat , I skipped school to accompany some frens and then decided to drink with my fren at night... u got it peeps... 3 lonely guys... at a pub drinking... sad ... sad... sad...
In fact, I tink e feeling was getting me "desperate" then. But I tink I really sorted out my tots today ... that is sometimes these kinda thingy is really "sui yuan" (follow destiny) and it's not like I want it I can have it. In fact, I shouldnt be trying so hard to look for something that is so hard to get at this stage in my life.
And besides, my focus for the yr should be on getting my career going... and not this kinda lovey-dovey distractions.
I think it's just me thinking too much at the end of the day...
Oh well... perhaps LJ wasnt far-fetched when he said I couldnt really leave myself from the notion of getting into a r/s... but I will and I must now... for the good of myself...
That is I am supposed to study hard, rest as much as possible, and then cheong for my career (aka interviews) !!

An Eventful Chu 3 !!!
Okay... I really seldom gamble on the mahjiong table, let alone play blackjack ... haha And I played in-between too with my bbal frens from NTU.
Okay let's start with the afternoon mahjiong session with my best pals at Grace's place. Am I suay or am I really heng ?? I gamed with "十三一" with "自摸".
For peeps who dun play mj, this combination of gaming is damn rare simply becos it is so messy. That is y usually when ppl game with it during new yr, pple will say he is suay... damn suay... but I feel fine lah... it's just a game yeah... for me I always gamble with a "losing cap" in my mind, so tt I wont feel so sad if I lost and I feel much much better if I win regardless of the amount !! Haha
Chang said I am "wang" lately... haha I rather I "wang" in my studies, career and love than gambling lah... hahaha
After the mj session, went to Weishun's place to continue gambling. This time, I played blackjack and in-between. In-between was much more exciting becos one can lose or win a huge sum in an instant.
Basically, the shuffler opens 2 cards for each of the player. Then a jackpot was set-up with each player forking in an equal amount (say 20cents for us lah...). During a player's turn, he could bet on any amount till that in the jackpot. Then the shuffler will open a third card.
In case some of u peeps forget wats in-betwwen, here goes:
1) The third card runs between the first 2 cards, he wins the bet.
2) The third cards falls out of the range of the 2 cards, he loses the bet and has to forfeit it into the jackpot.
3) This is the best combi !! If the third card is of same value as either the first 2 cards, he loses double of his bet into the jackpot.
Haha, trust me on this, even when u have an Ace and King, still will have ppl get ace as the third card one !! In fact, at one time, the amount in the jackpot was around $20 man as 3 of us had to pay double !! Imagine 20 dollars from 20 cents !! haha
Anyway, I won a little too. So total I won some money lah... hey treat u guys drinks when we meet yeah...

I hate reading research papers....

Tt is y I really dun see myself doing a PHD despite my cousins' advise to take one...
nah... too heavy for me... I am more of a macro person... someone who likes to deal with systems and how to improve and manuvere within it. Particularly, I am not into mincing and deciphering bombastic words like "proximal", "flexor digitorum profundus", or even "expoxy glue potting".
Oh well... gotta grind something out of my FYP soon...
Argh !!!

I officially call it quits on Feed Der Pigs... hahaha Not becos it's the end of the Year of the Pig. Rather, like chang said, it is tough enuff to maintain 1 blog... let alone 2 !!!
Talk about being busy, I din even knew it was the CNY week until chang they all told me lah... with the Lou Hei coming and stuff...
So busy... yet nothing is done well... hmmm
Anyway, we went to Lou Hei earlier on... will post the pics once I consolidated them.
So no more feed the pigs update ppl... but I will post such operations here instead !!

1) The year of the Rat is a year where the career will prosper for the Pig.
2) Tao Hua(aka love) wont be so smooth or to it's hearts content. People who seek r/s should explore during the 5th and 11th months, preferbly in overseas or on trips.
3) Health is an issue for the Pigs and he/she should particularly beware of accidents. My dad even went further to remind me that the Pig should take extra cautions of steps... hahaha
Overall, the year of the Rat is a year full of Tao Hua and it is a year where plannings has to be made and efforts put in so that one could reap his rewards. However, do be careful when travelling to the North as the unlucky "qi" is concentrated there.
Grace, in case u feel neglected, the Dog is super "Wang" this Rat yr so no need to tok so much. Perhaps just health becos u wont have time to care abt it with ur Career and Love blossoming till lidat. Haha

NTU Career Fair....
I wanna find a career that:
1) Travels overseas for training
2) Diversifys my experience through job rotations and exposure
3) Has long term career path
4) Allows reasonable salary
Of course money is important but not the most important to me now... getting the experience seemed more 'urgent' leh... from the way I see it lah...
So hopefully I can find such a job, regardless of whether izzit banking or engineering...

For the past 2 days, saw my ex once on each day at the NTU Career Fair:
Once at quad (aka the canteen at bio sci) and another time at the fair... but I am confident enuff that she didnt see me ... or she pretended to... haha
Anyway... before u peeps start bashing me and having OS like "wake up ur idea... it's over for so long and u still thinking of her !!!?? "
In fact, the 2 times i saw her... I felt a little sad actually... sad becos she looked jaded ... for watever reason... she doesnt felt like the person that was together with me back in yr 1. It kinda sad that things have to turn out this way... tt one come to realisation that an ex doesnt seem to look happier after so long the breakup. But I m def not the remedy lah...

Instead of being angry... i felt more grief that she turned out this way when she was trying very hard to find her Mr Right(she claimed one lah... )
Perhaps becos she saw me before I did, so she had a pissed face... hahaha and it turned out that the person beside her was my good fren. Didnt really stab her on the back, just told my fren she was my ex tt all... like I said... I seemed to be enjoying myself more than her ... at least from wat I see lah...
Anyway... her well-being is none of my business or concern ... but I still cannot forgive her leh... hahaha not becos I hate her for the breakup, but rather another matter... ask me if anyone of u wanna know yeah... perhaps I might just tell u ..
