Hell week....

Yeah yeah yeah...had pretty rough last week... this is why:

Being misunderstood
This is one of the worst feelings to be misunderstood... something written with a good intention can totally be perceived as otherwise... I not angry... more like "what can I say really" ?

My football loto
Of all the papers on my desk, my WC lotto has to be thrown into the dustbin and then be gone in the abyss... 4X the odds if Spain are the champions !!!

Sundown 21 KM Run
It could be the driving, or that I haven hydrated myself enough the whole week, or so some fark reason(s), my condition wasnt the best when I ran it. In fact, it got so bad that I had an unusual cramp on the 17km mark (unusual becos I have been training all the way till 15 km and no cramps ever...); so, had to walk back for the last 4 km and then ended near 3 hrs (2 h 50ish)... Without the cramp, I probably would have made the 2 h 30 mark I targetted...

Totally no sense of acheivement when they passed me my medal...

ICT after Sundown
In the midst of 2 day ICT; with the pain that is a legacy of the run... worst ... had to do some jogging today admist the excruciating pain....

Now you know wat a week I have been through... As Murphy said

"What can go wrong will go wrong !!!"

Alas... cant wait for a better week ahead !!!

Friday Timbre and Saturday KTV !!! Much needed that's for sure....

Thou shall not qoute from workplace again

For all my controvesial posts, ironically the one that really strikes back is the milder ones...

I hope what I have written hasnt been take outta context, becos if I could recall correctly, my post was totally about a family-oriented and funny individual; and I have no mallicious intentions towards the subjects of qoutes ...

And I sincerely apologise once again if I caused any unhappiness for that part...

Ultimately, I hope everything is fine...

Thou shall not qoute from workplace again.

Education = Money = Love ?

Something about the general Singaporean women that I dun understand, why narrow the views and options to such an extent ?

Had this conversation with a fren about guys - summary is that a potential bf would die die have to be a uni grad, on par or above. Naturally, my next question is why cant he be below ? Dun get me wrong, I understand the issues revolving around financial stability and frequency, and I do agree 100% that commiting oneself to someone who lacks any of the two is bad... real bad. Just like it was reiterated to me "If he is earning $900 per month, am I going to be the one holding the life together... " And the chances are that someone of equal and above "status" would be a better fit.

Having a proper cert does gives one more opportunities to be financially sound; at the very least it is always something good to fall back on, no doubt. It also enables a common topic(s) to build on; however, I dont believe that not having great study skills makes one less capable and resourceful. Some of the more successful people hasnt had degrees to begin with... alot of the wonderful stuff that my colleagues come out with are not from the experience....

At the end of the day, all I am trying to say is give the person a chance; also, give oneself a chance to know the person better. For better or worse, at least you are not shortchanging yourself you know...

Whether two persons "click" or not has somewhat a potential correlation with status, but it does not hold all the time....

For all we know, the person that is meant for each of us would be vastly variant from how we expected !

=)

PS: I choose to believe love is blind... hopefully I am right...

Labuan , Malaysia

This is where I might be headed for awhile.

An oilfield offshore base to tap on the offshore rigs around the Borneo region.

Hope all will be well there.

Shadow of who ?

There are the fallacies somewhere out there about Lebron and Free Agency, here goes:

Lebron will stay in Cleveland to win a championship

Contrary to that, I would think that is the main reason for his departure. Look at this season, Antawn Jamison, Shaq, M Peterson, Iglauskus, which players are bad ? Only bad I see is they dont work well together; which is precisely why the Cavaliers has been the same as last year in terms of reaching the Semis for the Playoffs only. Ultimately, I wouldnt want to see an "Alan Shearer" in NBA. Kevin Garnett nearly fell into this abyss of loyalty for the Timberwolves...

Lebron will choose NY as the best alternative

Yeah... for all the fan base, money and stage NY possesses, she also carries with her the baggage of bad management and bad trades for the last decade. Had Lebron leave for the sake of winning a championship, NY is probably not the best place to be in.

Lebron alone will win the championship

He proved to everyone that he cant this season. He needs a side kick; someone like Derrick Rose to relieve him of the ball when he is being targetted. For all Mj's might, he had Pippen to flourish together with yeah...

Lebron will not fall into the shadow of MJ

Okay, this is the fallacy that really bugs me... what shadow seriously ? Has Kobe been overwhelmed with the shadows of Riley, or Kareem and Magic ? Or has the Boston trios (K Garnett, R Allen, P Pierce) been chickened out by the names of Russell or Bird ? We are talking about All-star calibre players; I would be really disappointed if Lebron decided against Bulls due to this reason... hahaha

Lebron will not join Bulls because they are not there yet

Lebron is looking for a) fan base; b) money; c) stage; d) good core of players; e) an All-Star "side kick". Bulls has it all... period.

End of day, where he goes is ultimately his choice, but I reckon Bulls stands a very big chance of landing him. Even if we cant get him, there are the Bosh, Amare, Wade, JJ and Boozer we can go after...

Go Bulls !!

Why BP got most of the shit so far...

As the saying goes, the last person to touch it is to be blamed.

BP , Haliburton , Transocean

BP blames Transocean (TSF) for certifying that the equipment on board Deepwater Hrizon, TSF blames Haliburton for the shitty cementing job, and Haliburton blames BP for doing work in accordance to their requirement.

And the merry-go-round continues....

I would be super pissed if I were one of the family members of the 11 pple who died.

Angels and Devils

Had this conversation with John Lee yesterday. He was adamant that all guys look at boobys before anything else … wahahahaha so much for being honest u know… the topic kinda rubbed it off a little more and we started discussing the kinda ladies we’re into. I told him that my spectrum is like the 2 polar sides (angel and devil) that we always see on TV – the 2 limits of an argument.

The Devil – Wu Shumin (吴淑敏)

She’s a Taiwanese hokkein singer. Can’t remember where I first saw her, but yeah she is the forbidden fruit man… the kinda lady that men will die for… but the catch is she will never be the ideal wife material. For “itchy men” only … hahahaha

The Angel – Patty Hou (侯佩岑)

My all time favourite hey… it’s really her smiles and her chuckles during laughter. This aura and demeanor that makes her a potential someone who can have a conversation with, and be with long term u know… the kinda intelligent, yet not too intelligent kinda gf/wife.

Oh… and recently I kinda find Xu Jing Lei (徐静蕾; yesh…an ah tiong) hot too. I like her “Du LaLa” character in her new movie with Stanley (黄立行).

There you go - my Angel and Devil !

Whats yours ?

PS: Btw… as u can see… boobys are really not one of my considerations… maybe a pair of bonuses at most… tsk tsk

Lebron James - Where will he end up ?

Again, as i have said all along, I am not a Lebron fan. But taking all these personal thingy aside, I have to admit that he is the holy grail in NBA ... the one player that can change the whole dynamics of any team. He's a combination of atheletism, strength and skills for god sake !

So y did Cavs lose the series with Celtics then ? I dun really know and I freaking dun care ! The point is he might never win anything with the Cavs at all, given that this year is his best shot. So, as much as I am not a fan, hell yeah I would love him to be in a Bulls' uniform next season. His chances of leaving just ups more and more as the Cavs suck u know... hahahaha And let's put it these way, Chicago's the best alternative place to him now (fanbase, money, colleagues, tradition, etc.) when compared to the other competitors vying for his signature.

Just look at a team like this:

PG - Rose

SG - Hinrich

SF - Lebron

PF - Amare or Bosh

C - Noah

This team is so going to rock the whole league for years man !!!

Let's all keep our fingers crossed !

Go Bulls !!!

Plans for the next Half of the year.....

The sales courses I embarked upon this week has been more of a pleasant surprise to me. Instead of teaching us how to sell and more sales BS (hahaha), we were coached on the importance of planning and self preparation before the sales calls.

And actually, most of us has been doing those planning ahead of time directly or indirectly in our daily work. Just that, we hadnt really sit down and reinforce some of these ideas to fully utilise them. And the course also got me thinking a little about where I am with Tuboscope and where I am headed to.

For the past 10 months, I think I have learnt a lot - Inventory management, HR management, Operations, Sales prep and all the different projects that I have taken up. However, I tink I could have taken in more knowledge about the work... the technical specifications and the intricities of inspections, coatings and hardbanding. Dont get me wrong, i have been trying to absorb everything... but that's the problem - I ended with limited output with maximum input. I was kinda like dwelling into my own mess (digging my own grave) becos I cant seem to focus on one thing at a time.

The Inventory problem sure didnt help my cause; I was recalled to take up the project again. Then again, it aint an excuse I should be taking afterall. I am solely responsible for my own development with the organisation and it pisses me off that I had somewhat deviated from my original plans.

So, I have decided, the next half of the year will be of intensive hands-on work in the yard. To really go and see, feel and do what I should be selling eventually. At the same time, it might be harder to grab hold of me during this period too.

So peeps, bear with it a little yeah.... like my boss said:

"You gotta do what you gotta do..."

I just hope all of this will turn out well for me ...

Strength

"当你无助的时候,他给了你勇气。 但他需要你的时候,你何尝给他勇气?"

Something I garner from watching some show... that we humans are ultimately selfish beings. Most of the time, we care more about ourselves and forget about others.

Conversely, the person that you are willing to give your strength to is the person who really means something... so have I found someone like that ?

I sure do - My family and my friends. So I am missing just one special person...

Who ?

Already say haven been found le... ^^|||

Hahaha

Rafa Benitez and Liverpool

Haha I must declare that I am a Man Utd Fan, period. So I am disappointed that Chelsea beat Liverpool to take a step closer to the BPL. Unless Chelski really screw up their last 2 matches, which I highly doubt, we have no chance at all.

Then again, my disappointment in Liverpool goes beyond the results of this game. Liverpool had a Euro game 2 days ago prior to this showdown with Chelsea. So, like I was telling Kelson, if I were Benitez, I would have gone for a draw by packing my midfield and defense, given that there is such a small chance that they were going to steal the game. So I really think Benitez has gradually but surely failed the Liverpool fans with his tactics. At the end of the day, I believe he doesn’t understand the BPL game at all.

Before you Liverpool fans start taking the knives outta the drawers, I feel that Liverpool are a good squad with talents players; just the wrong mix of players. Continental players need a season or two at least to get accustomed to the style of play in BPL; but if there is always an influx of continental players every offseason, how’s the team going to ever gel ? Having one less competent team to challenge the title surely makes BPL less exciting doesn’t it ?

So Benitez, for the sake of Liverpool and BPL, please leave for Juventus !! lolz

Bulls Season Review - Against All Odds

The offseason started a little sooner for the Bulls; but nonetheless, it probably came later than expected given that we were not anticipated to be part of the Playoffs series to begin with…As I have mentioned on an earlier post, this season has been a roller-coaster one. Injuries to the key players culminated into a 9-game losing streak, a continue disparity in vision between Vinny Del Negro (coach) and the management which escalated into a confrontation between John Paxson and VDN, not to mention the ever present debate about not resigning Ben Gordon last offseason, and the mid season trade that offset chemistry a little for sure. All this is compounded to the pressure of the possibility that the season could be a failure.

But against all odds, we barely made the 8th seed in the East. Despite losing to King James and the Cavaliers 4-1 in the series, I thought we gave a good fight and showed tremendous tenacity – a trait that has been with the team ever since they started playing like one. As I have mentioned earlier on, it has been a feat to survive the season like in this fashion.

New Coach – The next level

As much as I like VDN, he is probably not the ideal person to bring the team to the next level. Having said that, he’s a great coach and he has demonstrated tremendous potential to becoming one given that he has maintained an 82-82 record with the current young pool of players. We probably need someone who has more experience and pedigree in the league to attract the marquee free agent(s). It's a shame that he is about to get fired, but life goes on... oh well...

SG – 2nd / 3rd offensive option

So in this offseason, we should really target an All-Star like SG player that doesn’t take the plays away from Derrick Rose. In my personal opinion, only Joe Johnson (Atlanta Hawks) and Anthony Morrow (Golden State Warriors) comes to mind. And yes we should trade Deng when his value is the highest now. Or even trade the 17th pick if we have to….

PF – Post up offense

Another player that we should target is probably the PF spot. As much as people are gunning for Chris Bosh (Toronto Raptors), I am of the inclination that we should get Amare Staudamire (Phoenix) or Al Jefferson (Minnesota) instead. Something I learnt from management that one might not like it, but there is a need for any organization to attain human resources of different skill sets so that the organization is robust against adversities. Same applies here I guess, I believe Amare / Al brings more of a different skill set (Post-up, offensive awareness) to what Chris brings (Defense, Shooting, Leadership). For all Chris’ talents, we have a poor man in Taj Gibson.

Signing / Resigning Veterans

Players like Brad Miller should be resigned even when they are going to play less next season. The wealth of experience and back-up capabilities makes them essential for any Playoff-bound teams. We should also target players like Ray Allen (G/F), Mike Miller (G/F), Jason Kapono (G/F) or even Steve Blake (G) depending on who we trade between Kirk and Deng.

Continual development of Taj, JJ and Asik

Add bulk to JJ and Taj while getting Asik from Turkey would leave the front courts set for years. But I do think we need to trade one of the trios. Like they always say, too many cooks spoil the broth.

This offseason is gonna be so interesting…
Go Bulls !!
