Can our Livers take it ?

1 Martel

1 Jackdaniels

1 Italian Merlot

We (Me, Chang, Kaijie, Keet, Ling, Drey, Grace, Yunting, Bert & Eve)finished all these in 3 hours... either we r getting better at drinking or we are really trying to kill ourselves drowning in alcohol... wahahaha

But seriously, I prefer wines to liqour, then liqour to beer. haha

Amazingly, I wasnt that high as compared to the last round of drinking session with the gang. And conincidentally, we even saw dear Royston !! wahahaha

And I have been declared the Lao Ban, Lao Da (aka lup sup Lao Bei Bei) of the gang by Lings, Drey and Grace after the rumors of the 32-inch swirls around !! Muahahahaha

So be it... hmphz !

NBA Draft 2008

As I have mentioned in my earlier posts, the Bulls got the 1st overall pick even with a 1.7% chance, a god's gift eh.

So this is how they fared in the draft:

1st pick - Derrick Rose (PG)

Derrick Rose is a no brainer if you ask me... he is wat Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Jason Kidd and even Steve Nash is to their respective teams. A 6'3 PG who can initiate offense and fast break, penetrate and finish, assist and even play defense. His only suspect is his shooting consistency which will come on with age. His entry into the team will make atheletic forwards like Noah, T Thomas and even Loul Deng so much better !!

Now that he is on board, one of the trio of Larry Hughes, B Gordon and Kirk Hinrich might be gone by the new season. Personally, I would like to see the first 2 gone... haha Hughes is an absolute chucker of the bball and Gordon just isnt a good fit to the team (he had contract issues of asking more than he is worth too !!). Oh well we could only trust Pax abt it..

36th pick - Omer Asik (C)

Never heard of this guy before the draft ended. Well, seems like Pax is quite high on this guy such that he trade 3 second round picks for his rights. He wont be joining the team until in 2 yrs time when his contract in Turkey expires... so we shall see... He seems to like to play a back-to-the basket game, which means he should have sound post moves for a center. However, he does need to bulk up more to stand the vigors of the NBA...

Personally, I think it's a good move as the roster is so young now... no space for another budding youngster. Besides, there r less obligations for a second round pick... so we shall see.

His video:

An overall excellent draft made by the Bulls.

Go Bulls !!

Aftermath of a breakup....

Recently knew of 2 frens who were hurt...

one is hurt becos he cannot swallow.. hahaha

the other becos of breakup.

I will tok abt the latter yeah...

I can sorta understand my fren's feelings becos I have experienced similar, if not worst scenario yeah... the feeling that "I have put in so much effort, consciously and subconsciously to the r/s and yet the actual outcome was not within my control becos the other person just dun see us together at all" This sense of helpless translated into weeks of despair and questioning myself like y is this happening to me and stuff... And I confess that it took me a long time to move outta of this state of being angsty and manipulative naggy person...

However, now I always tell pple:

"If one is able to let this hurdle go, there will be a brighter sky ahead !!"

Learning to let go and move on is a mindset - a mindset that we should be confident of ourselves and that just becos of difference in priorties in life doesnt make you the loser in the r/s. Perhaps we need to find a few unsuitable partners to really treasure the eventual one...

So dun despair my fren !!

I'm sure there will be better suitors for you !!

Surfer Boy's back Home !!

Went Taiwan for 10 days for my grad trip.

We settled in taipei for 3 days, followed by a tour down the eastern coast(through railway) to Hualian. Subsequently, we travelled across the mountain terrains to Mt He Huan, Qing Jing Farm, Pu li Beer Factory and finally reaching Sun Moon Lake. We stayed at the lake for a night before proceeding to Mt Ali (Alishan). Eventually, we ended our expedition by taking the little train to Jiayi where we headed back to taipei through their newest bullet train (western coast).

Of course, we rested 2 days back in taipei for some casual shopping and stuff... I went to surf at Honey Moon Bay in Yilan. Wooohooo... a very exciting and challenging sport, but definitely very fun. unfortunately I din bring my camera down to the beach cos I travelled alone, so the photos were taken when I was training to surf at the surf shop.

As a summary, this is how we travelled:

So here are the photos from my camera:

Except for Alishan, the rest of the sites were pretty nice. But personally, I still prefer my surfing stint... cool...
