NBA DRAFT 2007

Its the time of the year again.... NBA DRAFT 2007

This year's draft is considered one of the deepest of the decade (other than Lebron's that year). Particularly, its a 'big-man' draft where the top picks are littered with Power forwards and Centers.

So who did the Bulls draft this yr round ? They had the 9th pick (a gift from NY Knicks) , 49 and 51 pick. And these are the rookies they picked :

9th - Joakim Noah C 7'0



A 7 footer PF/C who can run the floor, pass and rebound well. But seems like analysts conclude he fits the system of the Bulls but he does not have a develped post game yet to boost Bull's chances of an NBA championship. Nevertheless, a tenacious kinda player that the fans would really love.

49th - Aron Gray C 7'0



A skilled 7 footer who can do a little of everything at Center. However, his footwork and atheletism often disappoint. A decent chance to stay with the team after the Summer Leagues considering Bull's need for a big post player.

51st - JamesOn Curry SG 6'3



Weird pick by the Bulls, considering they already have an undersized SG in B Gordon. Should really have gotten a foreigner and let the fellow stay in his own league for a few yrs before coming to the NBA. For all I know, this Curry fellow seems to have an attitude problem and lotsa baggage.... hmmm... definitely a gonna after the Summer Leagues... On a side note... he looks a little like YeKai... haha~

An okay draft for the Bulls... but i tot they should have traded the 9th pick for someone like Paul Gasol(Memphis Grizziles) or something. Well, see wat Paxson's gonna do this summer yeah...

TRANSFOMERS - More to come in the next Sequel ???

In light of the Transformers fever, these are the characters i would love to see in TRANSFORMERS - THE MOVIE 2 ... hopefully Micheal Bay sees this... wahahaha (fyi... Micheal Bay is the director the TRANSFORMERS - THE MOVIE)

So here goes:

1) Dinobots - Love them for their strength, hate them for their simple-mindedness or stupidity... they r the toughest AUTOBOTs around man... wats Transformers without their presence. BTW... i saw a rumour saying tt Dinobots may be in the Movie 2 man... wooohooo




2) JetFire - My fav AUTOBOT. He's the Air Guardian of the AUTOBOTs in Cybertron(planet where these robos came from....). A cool and flamboyant AUTOBOT.




3) Gesalts or Combiners - All time favs of many ... 5/6 robots able to combine into a larger one... ultimate cool... wooohooo





4) A combi of Metroplex and Trypticon - For any Transformers Fan, who can forget the rivalry between these 2 gargantuan robots. Metroplex is a battle fotress cum vehicle while Trypticon is a spaceship cum Tyranusaur... haha Hopefully, this rivalry can be put onto the screens man... haha




5) Insecticons - Disgustingly powerful Decepticons tt transform into insects.... need I say more ?




6) HeadMasters, PowerMasters or even Pretenders - new breed of Transformers with human element included. These robots are half machine half human. A little too ambitious for Movie 2 but i hope it can be out by Movie 3... still... its too adventurous le lah....haha





Any other fav Transformers I missed peeps ??? Hot Rod or Ultra Magnus ?? haha

How does the changing of car gears affect the properties of the car?


My answer:

1) Understand how a gear works. Gear ratio is a ratio between the number of teeth of the driving pinion and the driven wheel. As such,


No. of teeth on driving pinion : 10
No. of teeth on driven wheel : 20

Gear Ratio is 1:2
The driven wheel will be rotating slower in this case.


No. of teeth on driving pinion : 10
No. of teeth on driven wheel : 5

Gear Ratio is 2:1
The driven wheel will be rotating faster in this case.


In most cases, the changing of gears we are actually changing the driven wheel in the car system.


2) POWER = TORQUE X Angular Velocity

TORQUE can be considered "the ability to do work or to resist work"
Angular Velocity can be considered how fast a driven wheel spins


Assumption: There is no loss in power transmitted over the gears. In other words, POWER is constant in the equation.

Therefore,


For say Gears 1 & 2, a larger driving wheel will be used against the pinion to force the wheel to rotate at a lower speed (lower Angular velocity). According to the equation, therefore, the resultant TORQUE of the system will be very high. In other words, the car can do more work at lower gears... tt is y we often use gear 1 or gear 2 to climb slopes.


Conversely, at higher gears (Gear 4, 5 or even 6), a smaller driven wheel is used; thus, the driven wheel is able to rotate faster. But the car will have lesser TORQUE - tt explains y we have to slow down when we reach a hump. Otherwise, the vehicle will just come to a stall.

3) On normal roads, why do we have to change gears anyway ?

It is impossible to stick to one gear (say gear 3) on the roads and attain 90 kmh speeds becos the high POWER transmitted across the gears will cause the teeth of the gears to fail and break. Tt is y we often know tt blowing ur engine in lower gears will spoil the gearing system.

Oh hey... forgotten to blog abt the bowling outing yesterdae at Marina Square ...wahahaha

First time I bowled since sec 4... wah it seemed like years ago le lor... anyway I did fairly well for the second round... but my first round sux lah... I was the bench mark becos i scored the lowest... 45 pts !! wahahaha And I got 2 zeros to start the night... wooohooo

Anyway, soon got the feel of the game back and have quite some fun !! Hey... I managed to stay out being the bench marker le of course... *winkz*

Awaken-from-nap YC

A tale of "Surf Up" and an Aftermath of Bird Attacks....

Chang, KJ, Grace, Ling and me caught "Surf Up" at Cineleisure.


Hmmm... the movie is hilarious and funny, not to mention very entertaining... peeps.. should go catch it man... can give one lotsa inspirations.. And I love the chicken !! Woohooo....

Anyway... its kinda shocking to find that Chang's vehicle got ambushed by bird droppings at the parking behind Sommerset MRT. At first, I tot i only saw one dropping... it turned out the whole vehcle is littered with bird's poo... urgh... wahahaha

Bo bian... we ended up having to clean the car manually with tissue paper and water. Dun ask me y I took such disgusting pictures... ask Ling yeah... wahahahaha ..

So here goes:

Brazil Churrascaria... Samba anybody ??

In light of chang's recommendations, I tried out Brazillian food at Restaurant "Brazil Churrascaria" with my IA colleagues. As usual, "Randy" or "Da Xia" (aka Ee Hung cos of his resemblence to randy in "My Name is Earl") got to the restaurant real late becos he was asleep (darn~). Nevertheless, I must say, the food is really nice...too bad i couldnt eat beef...


Particularly i liked their Roast Pork and Dory Fish. Esp the Dory Fish, grilled very well... crispy outside but tender inside...haha

The appetizers were great also... i love the "grapefruit & papaya" dish garnished with sunflower seeds... yum yum yum...


Definitely a must-try i would say to pple who are meat-lovers... wahahaha

Relief Teaching at BPGHS

Woohoo... got my relief teaching in BPGHS ...starting next monday...


2 weeks... which means more work...less play and more money... then can plan for the perhentian trip le...

2 trips on my mind now:

1) Tioman Trip (with songlin, weijian, weishun)
2) Perhentian Trip (with grace, chang, Ling, zhiwei, drey)

so happy...

Got Rid of a Pest this Afternoon !!!

People always say "You need a lie to cover another..."

Tt y I sacked my tuition kid after 3 lessons... things tt she did that showed dishonesty:

1) She insisted of having tuition at funny places - West Mall KFC, Bukit Batok ITE, JP and even suggested me going to City Harvest at Expo to teach her !!! Wats wrong with her man... she usually would give the excuse that her house not convenient and stuff...

2) She insisted her mum was an ITE Chemisrty Lecturer; I call her just now and she cant even speak English...

3) She kept cancelling the tuition appt 30 min before the lesson starts (how farking irresponsible can she be...) It turned out, she has other tuition one time and she had to go Sentosa at another time... wtf

4) Ignored my calls only to pick up when I called with my sis hp...

5) Last but not least, she said she was at JP Mac when the caller-id on my phone showed a household telephone number.


Haiiz... we agreed to settle the wages but she insisted her bf's mum pays her bills and the mum could only pay on 1 July (Sun). Dunno if she is tt trustworthy ... but I did reiterate that I would approach her mum(the one who dunno English) for it since I have their address.

On a side note, I dun think she is interested in studies and I seriously feel she just wants tuition for fun. She is having O LEVELS this year, yet she cant even calculate Average Speed... dunno the meaning of Radius or Circumference... and best of all tell me that Distance is measure in Kg... yes Kilograms !!!

Well juSt take it as another lesson learnt... never get students from private schools (who knows... maybe she isnt really studying is she ??)


Urgh... kids these days... dunno y cannot think arh...

Donuts.... Donuts.... and more Donuts !! Woohooo...

In light of Drey's enthusiasm, our gang (Chang Drey Keet Ling and me) went to queue for donuts at Raffles City - Donut Factory !!

Wah but I was a little surprised since we only took abt 2 hrs to queue given its a Sat. My first experience there took me abt 3 hrs lah...

Anyway, sorry peeps for the late posting... here goes:


We started at the 3rd batch of queue....



Slowly and steadily, we reached the front... haha


We finally got our donuts.... (Those were Drey's donuts....)





Drey and Keet are so proud of their "trophies of war"... wahahaha

In the end, we bought 72 donuts (3 X 24) but we shared them among ourselves (Chang Drey Keet Ling Grace and me). It's a fun outing nonetheless... haha

Anyone else wanna jio me for donuts queuing ?? Wahahaha
