Busy busy week....

It's been 12 days of non stop working and I am still sending emails on a sat night...

lolz...

To sum up my whole week... it has been tremendously fruitful with the random dissatisfaction with why simple things need to be made so complicated that it has to involve so many parties...

Oh well, thats the tough part of the job, which ironically brings about the most satisfaction too.

And, busy weekend afterall too:

1) Fri evening - Supper with SC and Gina
2) Sat morning - Marina Barricade
3) Sat evening - Mafred's Wedding
4) Sun morning - Bball
5) Sun afternoon - Lunch with YS, ZP, WL and air
6) Sun evening - family dinner

Fulfilling week so far....

I like what I am doing; in the salesline, it's a must to interact with people... and that's is what I have been doing since i shifted office. And with the good stuff comes the bad ones too... and the problems we face everyday are the same elements that has made my life so fulfilling this week... and honestly, I see it as a constant battle...

It's kinda like a warrior on the battlefield, you love the pride that ur people surround u to represent them, yet at the end of the day, who likes to kill another fellow being... ?

Haha... life's full of contradictions... at least I like my contradiction for now...

The totally opposite Weekends....

Contrary to what many people say, I can be a homely person... lol. But somehow, I always give others a general impression that I am a social butterfly, and I hang out with lotsa pple kinda thingy... *shruggz*

And normally my free times are the total opposites to ppl, i.e, the weekends. Maybe because I have a rather hectic schedule during the week that I just dont wanna plan anything... or it could be that most of the peeps are occupied with their love ones and I dont have one for the moment... or it could even be that these 2 precious days are the only time that I can prepare myself for the coming week... I really dunno honestly...

For some reason, my Saturdays and Sundays are pleasantly less hectic and quiet to my liking... hahaha

And for the most part, I think it's what we enjoy doing that is more important than what we actually do. Having said that, I still go out on weekends... just not that often. So until something(s) drastic happens to my life, I am pretty much gonna stick with what I have for now...

Saturday is my rest day and Sunady is Bball Weekend...

I'm a boring shit... I know... but only for the weekends !!
Heh~

Nickname Tuesday....

Hans, my Operations Manager said it so well u know... he calls me the "Sprinkler".

Y so ?

Well, according to him, I am associated like the sprinkler (fan) that when shit starts squirting around, I will be there. It's kinda like I have a device somewhere within me that activates whenever there is a red alert u know... and the bosses would press a button or something ...

Esp now that he is headed for vacation for the whole month, things would drastically be on my table. But, I think I am up for the challenge really, and it definitely would be another great opportunity(s) to learn and grow with the business. All is well...

Good news is that I am tied down for now, so I would not be heading to Labuan so soon. Which means I can attend the BP dinner, as well as Manfred's wedding in July.

Bad news is that it is still sai gang. And with this saigang, I would also need to follow up on my next sai gang because another colleague would be away when Hans came back.

As the saying goes, when an Ang Moh says you are a kio sai warrior, you probably are... lolz

Bragging Rights....

I swear that I am not a Spain fan.Even so I hate to say this... the bragging rights still belong to yours truely !!

Didnt I say Spain's gonna win it ?

Didnt I say they were the luckiest team, on top of their best midfield in the tournament ?

I merely used a little more head than heart for this WC that's all... lolz

It has been a pleasant WC afterall !!

My last rant on the Foolish King... last time I will ever refer him that... lol

He could have gone for the money to join the Knicks... or he could go to the Bulls to get the best supporting cast... all in the name of making his team the champions...

But, he chose to ........

be close to the beach and play basketball with his friends !!

WTF is that seriously ? lol.. it's okay if Lebron just a player in the league... but he is not... He was supposed to be THE PLAYER in NBA...

So what if he gets a ring(s) with Heats ? Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant will always be ahead of him in the Hall of Famers... wait... he has not even stepped into this category... and he is already walking away from that threshold... lolz

The king has spoken afterall - that he is still a baby who needs nursing from his pals... not carry his own team...wahahaha

Loser !!!

The new Additions....

The Bulls couldnt get any of the trio, as you guys should know... the trio being Wade, Bosh and the 没志气Lebron. But here's who they got, or targetting so far:

The confirmed....

Carlos Boozer (PF/C)

It turned out that Tim Thibodeau wanted Boozer more than Bosh. Probably because he thinks Boozer would work better with Rose on the pick and roll give his massive size down the paint. He's a two time All Star, and he will definitely beef up the front courts with Noah. On top of his already great defense, he is even better on the offensive side, particularly with his passing and post skills.. so he will be an instant hit !

Omer Asik (PF/C)

It's about time Asik comes to Chicago man !! It's been 2 years since the Turkish Center was drafted; he is proclaimed the next best prodigy outta Turkey... so we shall see ! So far, he has an NBA-ready body and his defenses loked polished; however, his offenses need further development.

Kyle Krover (G/F)

Need I say more, the team needs shooters, more the merrier; Krover is the highest percentage scorer (3 pt %) last season. Unofortunately, he is not starting 5 material... so we'll have to see who else joins the Bulls' bandwagon....

The pending....

JJ Redick (SG)

He is another spot up shooter, with better defense than Krover... but again, he is not starting material... so I reserve my opinion of him till the next season. So far, he has playoff experience that the team could lean on... so not too bad signing...

Brad Miller (C)

He was great the last campaign; I would love him back with the team mentoring the young forwards like noah and Asik. But, if he truely wants a ring, Miami is the place for him to go... He has the right to persue that ringafter so many battering years and trying u know... Otherwise, he should remain in Chicago... if not I will shoot him ! hahahaha

Ronnie Brewer (F)

Defensive specialist at the G/F position. Again, not likely a starter if signed...

Andre Igoudala (G/F)

AI is a prototype version of Rose with better wing defense. However, trading for him and placing him at the starting SG brings about the shooting problem. He just doesnt score enough from beyond the arc... so I guess let just see how things pan out.

Mike Pietius (G/F)

I love this guy on the team - he can shoot, defend the wing and has legit size for the G/F position. If Magic counter bid for JJ Reddick, could we possibly trade for him ? haha

Veteran PG mybe ?

A backup for Rose while he rests during th games... someone who could hold up the ball while create and maintain the formations. Someone like Roger Mason, Anthony Carter, Eddie House, or even Tracy McGrady if he is willing to take a pay cut ? lolz...

Will update with a new thread once the free agent frenzy comes to a close....

Go Bulls !!!

Lack of respect for the game....

I am never a fan of Lebron's playing style because I think he based alot of his game on his physique - his explosiveness and physical presences to dominate, but I never ever lost respect for him like I did with Eddy "I have a cardio problem" Curry. Reason - Heart !

And I did today when Lebron announced that he is joining Wade and Bosh, like it was reported. Okay, let's put things in perspective shall we:

Whose gonna control the ball ?

Now Heats have 3 All-stars, which is an awesome deal. But if you scrutinise closer, whose gonna control the ball, and eventually the course of the game ? Wade used to do it on a daily basis last few seasons, now he is going to give that all up for a fellow All-Star ? The same applies to Bosh, he has all the touches in the Raptors team, so he will be contented to play a "Garnett" role ?

I mean as great as it sounds, this trio is a bomb waiting to explode. A team cant really have 3 suaperstar players ... wat.... 3 different teams from an original one ? It's like a three-headed snake u know... where r they really heading ?

Lebron's heart for the game

6 years ago, Lebron was drafted as the prodigy of the league - someone who would eventually take over the dominance of NBA like how Jordan, Magic, Kareem and Wilt did... but going to co-exist with 2 superstars, will he ever get a triple double or be as dominant as he used to be ? I highly doubt so seriously...

He disappointed the entire NBA when he choose to be a co-star instead of being the lead actor where he rightfully should be. Is he that desperate really ? He will end up being a good player... but never a great player anymore given his reduced role....

Which ultimately makes me question his heart for the game... his ceiling is skyhigh... yet he chose to stay mid air... what a waste of talents !

Looking ahead...

Sure the Heats would be champion favourites next season... but I anticipate 3 unhappy stars eventually creeping into the team. Besides, he will forever carry the tag of an underacheiver now... even if he grabs the ring that he so longed for...

If it really means to lower oneself to attain a ring like that, I lost a lot of respect for Lebron ! He could have a golden statue all for himself, and yet he choose to stay on the poster with a trio...

It's a sad day for NBA man... to lose a dominant player like that...

And for those who wanna shoot me now, look at this article first... it is exactly what i toked about - Heart !

Lebron's decision in 12 Hrs time....

Honestly, if Lebron joins Wade and Bosh to the Miami Heats like it was reported, I see him no up totally.

Dun get me wrong pple, it has got nothing to do with me being a Bulls fan. For all that matters, he could remain in Cleveland or join another mega-fanbase franchise like New York Knicks. Reason is simple, he is and will be the next big time outta NBA to take over from Kobe if you ask me, so why the hell do you compromise your greatness by sharing the courts with 2 ball-hoggers ?

Now let me get biaised, y not the Bulls ? Carlos Boozer and Derrick Rose is on the same level, if not more (playoff experience) to Wade and Bosh. Another major difference lies in the fact that both Boozer and Rose are not the kinda players that takes the ball away from Lebron's hands if he ever joins that it, unlike the duo in Miami.

Now, is he even that desperate like a certain Garnett or Ray allen to place himself so low just for the sake of the ring ? I would say his chances of a ring are as great between Heats or Bulls...

So need I say more ? Once again, for the sake of NBA and my beloved Bulls, pls dont end up being a second tier All Star player when you could be in the league of Micheal Jordon and Magic Johnson....

Luckier team won .... !!

As Uncle YC has predicted, luck won over form today ... The Germans had no answer for Xavi and Iniesta... lol

It's like the Spainish commandos winning one over the unstoppable German armors... woohooo

Spain for WC !!!

*Big Smiles*

Gang: Ask me and I will tell ya... lalalala

Disappointing.....

Sometimes I really wonder, why do I even make the effort to pass her stuff that I think would be beneficial for her in the near future or long run....

Perhaps, she doesnt really see the value of the stuff I brought to her front... or perhaps she just doesnt care and she is just not motivated. Not only that, simple things also wanna drag...

Time and time again, she has disappointed me to the point where I think perhaps I am asking too much of her....

Oh well... wat can I say really ?
靠人不如靠己,忠言逆耳

Back at work....

Seems like awhile ago when I worked... I mean really sat at my table and worked. The most recent time was 2 weeks ago when I just rushed back from Labuan... reason being I was doing up and correcting the budget for the facility shift there... to be handed over to my boss.

Dont get me wrong pple, I was away in Labuan for 2 weeks, then 1 week of meetings and rushing around, follwed by 1 week of reservist. This whole week is another 5 days of studying; I on course lah... I am hardly at my desk lah !

I was pretty concerned that I have not been in sync with my work - learning about the business and all. But, I was plesantly surprised today. It seems like I took in more than I expected after 1 year... the things that spurted outta my mouth today in the course surprised me quite abit. I was able to relate some pointers with the inspectors and reiterate some of the things which I experienced... best something which they missed but agree with.

Meanwhile, although I am obviously doing something right, I need to continue to push for greater things in my career - to get all the necessary certs in a year's time to move a step towards doing sales within the organisation.

Alrighty, it's back to reading materials and test tmr...

Ciao~

Spain or Germany ? I go for Spain... lolz

The hottest team doesnt always win the day, sometimes the luckiest is the one !

Hottest Team - Germany
Luckiest Team - Spain

I made a side bet to see which of the juggernauts will win ... I am all for Spain.

Reason being for all their lacklustre performances, Iniesta and Xavi have the kinda telepathy on the field that I dont see often... Both are great playmakers; but, the most intersting part about their partnership is that they seem to know who is orchestrating the offense and who should be taking a step back as back role. And these roles changes frequently; that kinda explains why their midfield is so dominating against their opponents so far.

My only problem is that I think they should play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 against the germans instead of their normal 4-5-1. And please Del Bosque... do not switch wingers on the flanks !!! It's a Taboo !

España en favor de los campeones!

South Americans and their minimal defense

The South Americans are mostly attacks and minimal defense as I have said in my earlier post. And tonight is a case where I said all along... offense can only get one so far if the defense doesnt pull up their socks. Think of the Japanese Kamikazis you know... haha

Dont get me wrong, Kaka and Messi are all great playmakers and footballers... but when they are sandwiched by 2/3 defenders each time they touch the ball...they can only do so much really. They can bring magic to the game, but they are not perfect. Nobody is that good seriously !

Cant wait for the Spain vs Germany semis next week !

=)

The Absymal case of switching flanks....

When the Wingers switch flanks, i.e. a left-footer on the right and vice versa:

Good

1) Central Penetration

Pretty self explanatory... having more driblling in the central of the midfield allows greater movement into the box... provided the wingers can duo role as playmakers.

2) More accurate and powerful long shots

More opportunity to shoot with the stronger foot when taking long-ranged shots; hence shots are more powerful and accurate.

3) Confusion from defenders

Defenders would have a hard time deciphering who they are actually marking... esp in the case when 2 wingers cluster to one side, like how Ronaldo used to free role in Man Utd team.

Bad

1) Clustering of midfield

Too much dribbling in the middle clogs the midfielders together. Unless the central defence is weak, there would be great pressure for the midfield to push the ball to the forwards.

2) Easy defending from opponents

Concentration in the middle allow opponents to clog the central midfield and defence to blockade any offense.

3) Lack of width

The wingers...esp those that are only strong on one foot... would have great difficulty crossing the football with first touches. They would have to switch the ball to the stronger foot and lose their quickness in the process. When that happens, they are "easy" to anticipate and defend

4) Lack of crossing

Again, switching the ball to the stronger foot slowers the pace of the offense; thus, loses the opportunity(s) to put in quick crosses for the forwards.

At the end of the day, the bads could be minimised when the players are used to playing on the "wrong" side. Robert Pires, Podolski, Giggs, Ronaldo, etc. are some of these players that can do it because they at least have a decently strong other foot. Otherwise, switching flanks, especially during the game is a BIG gamble.

Del Bosque and the Spaniads did that; so did Maradona and the Argentinians... and both of them lost the game. Reason is simple, how many goals do we see from long range ? Seldom or even hardly... so compromising so many aspects of the game just to go central is not really the way to go... especially when every team needs more teamwork as she is made up of players playing in different countries and leagues.

Therefore I conclude,

SWITCHING FLANKS = LOSE THE GAME

Well... my 2 cents worth... hahaha

The ICT ReCap....

Yeah people, your friendly neigbourhood Laoda is home from a week of training serving his duties for the nation ! 5 days of ICT.... wooohooo

Heres the recap:

The bad

1) Outfield ?

I mean seriously, outfield need to be so garang and prone down in mud not siah ? Granted, I missed the shit in a twist of events... but NSmen playing like active NSFs ? Like I was telling the younger fellow Nsmen, if this is gonna continue for the next few years... complaints to MP are pretty likely man... lol

2) Failed my IPPT

2.4 km run by 10 sec !! First time in my life I failed it lah... to be fair, haven had the chance yto train since I was in Labuan recently.

3) The stupid bus driver

Thursday night training was farking xiong... i meant farking... hahaha 930pm cut off but we got stuck in the area becos the stupid bus got stuck in the mud. Initially wasnt that bad u know... but the tiong driver keep rafting his engines and spinning the wheels in the mud that it just sunk deeper deeper deeper and deeper....

The good

1) Met a bunch of great sect comds for the Bttn

We shared the bunk, and they call me and Yunn Sin the lao jiaoz hahaha... simply becos we have all the equipment that seemed medievial to all of them... cmon we ORD like 7 years ago while it is 2/3 years for them u know...

2) Met another bunch of good ppl from the unit

My section people were quite bengs lah... hahaha in a good way. We drank at the Mess, tok cock and we dwell pretty well with one another.

One of them (Jerome) say I look like 30 something with a wife and kids... wtf !! Hahaha... stuff u hear from 21 year olds are pretty interesting nonetheless... lolz

3) Managed to somehow got myself off getting muddy outfield

In a twist of events, I didnt do the section drills at all. I took over the Platoon Sergeant role for awhile when the actual PS was busying handling the ammo.

4) Trained myself abit in prep for IPPT before my window closes

Yeah I know... failed IPPT this time round.. but nvm la... expected wat...

So seems like the ICT hasnt been that bad afterall... just pls dun be so xiong next year yeah !!

=)
